Central Vermont

Your home should sustain you, and connect you to our natural world; whether within a neighborhood or on the edge of a wooded meadow. This defines a good house.
At TruexCullins we combine an understanding of art, craft and technology—and bring those skills to the making of beautiful homes that feel right in their setting.

Our Process
Designing and building your own home is an exciting and daunting adventure. From initial meetings through to construction, we are with you every step of the way.
With more than 50 years experience, we will guide you through the three project phases of your project: design, documentation, and construction. We look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Sustainable Design
When we begin designing your home, we’re thinking not just about how it will look and feel, but how it will live, breathe, and endure. We’ve always taken a broad view of what it means to design responsibly. That means creating spaces that are beautiful and functional, that support your health and well-being, and that respond to the environmental challenges of our time. Sustainability isn’t a feature, it’s a foundation.
As we move through the design phase, we’ll consider how your home can be sited to capture solar energy, how insulation and ventilation can enhance comfort, and how every decision contributes to long-term performance. We integrate sustainable design tools throughout our process and often collaborate with trusted consultants to provide energy modeling tailored to your project. Together, we’ll shape a home that’s quiet, healthy, efficient, and built to last.

in the press
One of our most recent projects is featured as the cover story in New England Home Magazine. This modern home steps out of the landscape, complementing its surroundings while rising up to take advantage of alluring lake views.

Residential LEADERSHIP TEAM
“A major part of what we do is make houses that look out; that include the outdoor environment as part of the design. We think of this as blurring the boundaries between inside and out.”
