Moxie Hill Farm
Northern New England
This house is nestled into the hills above Lake Champlain and looks across to the Adirondack Mountains. The forms and palette of materials are rooted in the local vernacular of the shingle style, so the building feels comfortable and familiar.
The treatment of the window walls and clean lines of the masonry are contemporary, giving the owner a wonderful experience of being in contact with nature. The exposed exterior materials are naturally weathering cedar, copper and stone. No preservatives were used, which will allow the building to age gracefully and grow more beautiful over time.
