Cliff House Resort

Ogunquit, ME

The project includes 225 guestrooms and suites, a 9,000-square-foot luxury spa, two unique restaurants, and 25,000 square feet of event space.

A Coastal Getaway with the Splendor of Maine

Interior spaces have an honest approach that references the history of the resort and its location. Materials, furniture, and objects have been thoughtfully collected over time, conveying an intrinsic value and a defined aesthetic.

At the front desk, quarry stone blocks stand in line, as if just delivered on wood palettes, while guestrooms evoke a ship’s cabin. The carefully curated interior demonstrates an eclectic and timeless regional sensibility that is distinctive to the Maine coast.

Tidemark Terrace

At the terminus of the lobby, a grand staircase overlooks the cliffs and descends to Tidemark Terrace, facing dramatic two-story wood-burning fireplace made from local bluestone.

A striking, thirty-foot white bookcase and mahogany library ladder enhances the grand scale of the room, with shelves of authentic nautical curiosities, games, and books for guests to enjoy.

Cliff House Luxury Suites

In the Luxury Suites, elegant coastal décor meets touches of Northern European design.

The interior design balances the breadth of oceanside beauty with the captivating brilliance and splendor of Maine. Every detail of Cliff House Maine was designed to create the cozy atmosphere of a coastal cottage getaway, with contemporary refinements harmonizing with the aesthetic character of the Maine Coast.

THE SPA

The Spa at Cliff House Maine is a tranquil sanctuary that indulges the senses, overlooking the coastal cliffs and infinite ocean horizon.

Arrival at the spa begins with a descent down an elegant spiral staircase positioned over a gently flowing pool of water. Spa Treatment Rooms feature natural materials such as Douglas Fir wall and ceiling cladding, and woven linen wallcovering complimented by cool bluestone. Each element pays respect, in form and tone, to the gently rolling waves of the ocean that stretches in all directions.

The Tiller Restaurant & bar

The Tiller is one of two distinctive restaurants that contribute to the landmark transformation of the Cliff House Resort.

The Tiller offers farm-to-table dining in a modern setting with a subtle but unmistakably maritime feel. TruexCullins designed a coastal palette of muted blues and creamy whites. The focal point is a central two-sided fireplace that adds warmth and intimacy to the open dining area.

Nubbs lobster shack

Nubb’s offers a modern twist on Maine’s quintessential lobster shack. Red spindle-back chairs and large handcrafted picnic tables give a nod to traditional New England décor, while columns wrapped with hemp fishing rope, colorful buoys, and brushed nickel lanterns enhance the casual, seaside dining experience.
