Brattleboro Middle and High School
Brattleboro, VT
Founded in 1954, the Lincoln School (LSNepal) is a pe-K thru grade 12 English language school serving 250 students with a strong tradition of student-centered learning. The school was originally established to serve the children of U.S. government employees but now enjoys a truly international character.
The school has 35 classrooms in three buildings plus outdoor field courts and play areas located on 3.1 acres in Khatmandu. In 2015, a three-story library/media center, classroom building, and heated pool were completed. This work completed the previous 5-year master plan.
Key issues driving the planning include concerns about air quality, security, parking, and flexibility for future growth. In addition, aligning learning spaces with 21st century pedagogy, providing spaces that support collaboration, and community were important considerations for the master plan.
