This major renovation to Vermont Law School’s 110 year old Debevoise Hall maintained the building’s historic integrity while incorporating a high level of sustainable initiatives.
The building was retrofitted with an energy efficient thermal envelope with dense-pack cellulose, spray foam insulation, and super-insulated windows. A heat recovery ventilator recycles waste energy while providing fresh air to the building occupants.
Interior spaces are designed to maximize exposure to natural light and views. Custom furnishings were built by Vermont Furniture Guild members using locally grown and harvested FSC-certified wood. State of the art composting toilets minimize water consumption.Photos by Westphalen Photography and GBH Studios
