Located 20km south of Brussels, St. John’s International School educates 900 students from more than 60 countries in grades Pre-K to 12. To guide their campus development, St. John’s hired TruexCullins to create a master plan and transform their campus to meet the needs of a 21st century learning community.
The master plan organizes the disparate buildings around two public spaces. At the rear of the site, a town square is established to create a community of buildings organized around a new auto drop-off loop. At the heart of the campus, a new garden space and chapel are visible from the surrounding buildings, helping to reconnect the campus to its natural environment and providing a space for reflection. A new administrative and library building are added to the new town square, along with many collaborative and community spaces to support the educational program.
