From Kampala to Vermont: Marion Mbwali Begins Internship with TruexCullins

New graduate Marion Mbwali

We’re delighted to introduce Marion Mbwali, who has joined TruexCullins as our newest architecture intern!

Marion recently completed her five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree at the School of Architecture at the International University of East Africa, located in Kansanga on the edge of Katwe—a vibrant neighborhood in Kampala that’s rapidly transforming into a city within a city. Her academic achievements and passion for design are matched by a remarkable personal journey that brings deep meaning to her arrival at our firm.

Marion is an alumna of The 52 Kids Foundation, a Vermont-Uganda initiative that TruexCullins has proudly supported since 2005. What began as a grassroots effort between two high school graduates—one from Kamuli, Uganda, and the other from Charlotte, Vermont—has grown into a thriving community loan fund. Today, the fund is led by the very students it once supported and continues to empower the next generation through business startups, advanced education, and emergency assistance.

Marion’s story is a powerful reflection of what’s possible when communities invest in one another across borders. We’re honored to be part of her journey and excited to see the contributions she’ll make here at TruexCullins and beyond.
