The Topnotch Resort building addition includes a new porte-cochère and central lobby, a dedicated concierge space, the acclaimed Roost restaurant and a relaxing intimate bar lounge. Related site work included an event lawn and multiple recreational terraces seating 200. A full service kitchen and other support spaces are located on the lower level.
The new building forms a striking congruity with the stunning composition of Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. Guests are immediately drawn in upon entering where the ceiling rises and provides visual access to the drama of the mountain view across the level lawn. The built form echoes the natural landforms visible from the hotel. This subtle juxtaposition of the natural with the man-made is an oft repeated theme in several of the hotel’s primary buildings and major outdoor spaces.
Additional projects included the redesign of the formal restaurant, Flannel, the new signature restaurant Roost, renovations to guestrooms and conference facilities.Photography: Westphalen Studio
