TruexCullins has been working with CCTA and the planners and engineers at VHB since 2011 to develop a new transportation center for downtown Burlington.  Over the past 5 years, we have evaluated 30 site locations and developed multiple design iterations.  On Thursday, after the ribbon is cut, we will look back at the design process and share the story of our journey.

The completed project features a 350-foot long covered bus platform, enclosed terminal building, and 10 bus berths lining the block between Cherry and Pearl streets.  The siting of the facility allows for an improved Cherry Street corridor and strengthens the connection between the Church Street marketplace and the waterfront.

The Downtown Transit Center is a model example of a collaborative and deliberate design process that engages our community and pushes our city forward.  We look forward to seeing you at our office on Thursday evening October 13!
